Correspondence, memos, clippings, reports and other materials relating to the years after Mr. Michaelian retired from public life. Included are files on the Institute for Sub/Urban Governance, the Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations, Mr. Michaelian's unfinished history of Westchester County, a study of various county charters, a history of Westchester County Courthouses, files from the Westchester County Tricentennial Commission, and one folder on the naming of the Michaelian Office Building.

Edwin Gilbert Michaelian (1906-1983) held office as Westchester County Executive from 1958 to 1973. He was born in New York City and graduated from Yale University (1929). After graduation he entered business as a rug importer. In 1939 he was elected a Councilman for the city of White Plains. He served until 1943 when he resigned to become a Naval Officer (1943-1945).
